The Platform
Serving The Community
Signe has been part of this community for over 20 years, working to make it a better place to live. She has worked for the Dulles Regional Chamber of Commerce, for the University of Maryland College Park, local small businesses, nonprofits and the arts. She is a volunteer with the Herndon Rotary focusing on food insecurity, with the Closet helping to raise scholarship funds, and with her college alumnae association. She serves on several county committees including the Economic Advisory Commission and the Northern Virginia Transportation Authority-Planning Coordination Advisory Committee.

Signe's focus is on:
- Respectful open-minded dialog with residents
- Transportation (pedestrian and bicycle) and traffic abatement
- Environmental sustainability
- Working with diverse communities to build our Town's future equitably
- Transparency and communication between staff, Council, residents and businesses
Efforts on Town Council:
- Establishment of Community Round Tables, providing regular opportunities for direct discussion between Council members and residents
- East Elden Street Improvements
- Smart Cities Initiative including downtown free WiFi, electric car recharging stations and green LED lighting
- Herndon's Sustainability Plan
- Preparations for infrastructure supporting public transportation to and from future metro site
- Increase "missing middle" housing opportunities in Herndon (in progress)
- Downtown Redevelopment, including Arts Center
